We designed Banana River as a compact investment property that uses shipping containers as part of the structural strategy without allowing the finished home to read like a typical container project. The goal was to keep the construction approach simple and efficient while giving the house a more refined residential identity.
A simple gable composition ties the project together, while vertical wood-toned cladding, dark trim, and carefully proportioned openings reduce the visual emphasis on the container modules themselves. The two side masses use the containers as structure, but the architecture is intended to be read as a complete home rather than as an assembly of boxes.
At roughly 1,100 square feet, the project shows how a modest footprint and an unconventional structural approach can still produce a warm, deliberate residential design.
